Shot with Taylor James

bottle test

I wanted to test a low angle on products and thought a bottle would be a good start place.

This is the first set up to which I added toning and contrast layers.

It was shot on a 35mm lens and is soon to be re shot on a 24mm TSE.

graphic perfume rework first mock-up

This is the first mock-up of the re-worked graphic perfume shoot with new background.

backgrounds re worked

These are the two backgrounds I have re worked for the graphic perfume images which are soon to be updated.

graphic perfume

As I studied art and design at college I have always been interested in the fields of graphics and illustration.

When I found these backgrounds I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to use them and create an image.

I wanted to use products that complimented the designs and had advertising potential.

The perfume bottles’ shapes and translucency worked well for the purposes of composition and light bleed.

white on white

I liked the idea of placing a white object on a white background for its simplicity. I looked for pieces that

were simple in design with clean lines to enhance this even more.

I used very simple soft lighting as to get a subtle shadow.

This was really a test to see if I could make something more interesting of a basic concept. To achieve this

I put blue into the shadows as to give the products a slight colour lift from the background along with

an overall toning.
